HTL Kapfenberg at Dachsteinglacier

On July 1st, a group of students from HTL Kapfenberg, accompanied by their teacher Frederike Sammer, visited us on the glacier. Together, they explored various chemical phenomena present on the glacier. Under bright sunshine, the students collected water samples and examined rocks for metal content. They also conducted experiments to investigate how glacier rivers act as a carbondioxide sink. A special highlight of the trip was the visit to the Ice Palace, where students gained unique insights into the glacier’s internal structure.
